In this role, you will be a servant leader impacting the development of craftsmen by providing coaching to ensure adherence to preferred maintenance practices to maximize efficiency and safety. How you will impact Smurfit Westock: * Assist and provide direction to craftsmen with equipment troubleshooting to mitigate downtime * Monitor and approve inventory orders to control storeroom spend according to planned budget * Ensure compliance and proper use of parts and equipment according to preferred maintenance practices * Oversee craftsmen’s compliance with corporate, division, plant safety and environmental rules and procedures * Lead development and implementation of continuous process improvement of reliability plans in the plant * Demonstrate ownership of business and management goals by effectively leading craftsmen to align on objectives * Lead safety efforts by identifying high-risk situations, conducting safety meetings, and coordinating maintenance related safety activities * Provide leadership and coaching in safety, training, and work allocation to uphold the standards of maximum safety for all maintenance employees * Collaborate with operations and mechanical leaders to plan, schedule and execute daily and break-in work and to increase measured reliability metrics What you need to succeed: * 2-year technical degree in a Maintenance related discipline or related work experience * 3 - 5 years of experience in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related field * Working knowledge of maintenance techniques and equipment (i.e. pumps, valves, motors, gear boxes) * Safety mindset with thorough understanding of safety policies and procedures * Initiative to problem solve and take independent action * Great communication with the ability to adjust communication style and interact across all levels of the organization * Able to exhibit a ‘can-do’ approach and inspire others to excel * Must be organized with great time management to manage multiple priorities
