MITER Brands, also known as Milgard, MI Windows & Doors and PGTI is one of the nation’s largest suppliers of vinyl windows and patio doors, with plants across the country.The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the effective deployment of all maintenance team members assigned to his/her area of responsibility, executing work management processes for the efficient and effective use of planning/scheduling all resources to conduct maintenance activities which result in minimum downtime and maximum productivity, and continually assessing craft skill levels & ensuring the organization is staffed and trained to deliver safe, effective, and efficient high-quality work.Why work at MITER Brands?ResponsibilitiesManaging the day-to-day activities of the assigned maintenance technicians including training, development, budget accountability, reporting, planning, etc.Plan, manage, monitor, and evaluate the workflow to ensure safety, quality, and productivity standards are achievedTrain and develop maintenance team members to improve their technical skills through effective training in trouble shooting, root cause analysis and professional preventative/corrective maintenance techniquesIdentify and purchase the needed tools and equipment for the maintenance shop and personnelSupport the local Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) programFully utilize CMMS (computerized maintenance management system) to document and measure practices with the goal of improving the machinery, equipment, and facility reliabilityDirect the planning, scheduling, completion, and reporting of preventative and demand maintenance work ordersCoordinate and lead multiple projects simultaneously to ensure work is properly coordinated, approved, and completed in conformance with established priorities and proceduresMaintain effective communication with all departments and promote an environment that encourages exceptional customer serviceMentor and empower Maintenance Technicians through delegation and coachingSupport and administer company policies and procedures consistentlyEnsure compliance with regulations and company policiesOther duties as assignedQualificationsB.S. in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial preferred) or related degree preferredCertified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) preferred7-10 years of progressive industrial maintenance experience with at least 5 years of independently managing a maintenance department, or a sufficient combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential functions of the positionMust be open to occasional domestic travel (for training, visiting other Miter Brands sites, etc. - less than 10%)Strong knowledge and understanding of machinery subsystems including mechanical drives, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical, and PLC controlled and network-connected automated systemsAbility to lead and instruct others in the proper maintenance techniques for these machinery subsystemsFamiliarity of tools and techniques used in predictive maintenance like vibration monitoring, infrared inspection, sound detection, and oil analysisStrong understanding of Inventory & Procurement processesProven experience in managing multiple projects/equipment installationsProficient communication and interpersonal skillsHigh level of customer focus both internally and externallyAbility to interface with individuals with diverse backgrounds at varying levels of the organizationWorking knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPointPhysical Demands/Work EnvironmentThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
