Carefully selected mergers have helped Loman-Ray enter new communities across Illinois and to develop a growing staff of experienced insurance professionals.Personal Lines Customer Service RepresentativePosition Summary:The Personal Lines Customer Service Representative is responsible for servicing and growing an assigned book of business, with the expectation of maintaining a working knowledge of existing accounts and developing additional lines. This role involves responding to client and carrier inquiries, processing new and renewal business, supporting claims, quoting, billing, and account rounding. The position requires strong client service, communication, and sales capabilities.Key Responsibilities:Customer Service & Account ManagementMeet with clients in-office or off-site when appropriateScreen and qualify walk-in and phone-in prospectsSet up, organize, and maintain client filesCollect necessary data from the insuredsComplete and process applications, endorsements, and other policy-related documentsProcess certificates, notary requests, and other documentationMarket new or renewal business within agency guidelinesMaintain expiration lists and monitor renewalsRate and review policies for accuracyArrange financing for new and renewal businessCollect premiums on new accountsInput, update, and retrieve information in the agency management systemCoordinate with clients, carriers, markets, and internal departmentsHandle client and carrier correspondence in accordance with agency standardsParticipate in training and support for other departments as neededPerform any other assigned duties or special projectsClaims SupportAssist clients with claim reporting and follow-upReceive claim details from clients via phone, mail, or in-person meetingsReview policies for coverage applicabilityAdvise clients on next steps regarding estimates and billingPrepare and submit loss reports to carriers promptlyAssist insureds with claimant communications and reporting requirementsCoordinate state-required documentation, when applicableFollow up with carriers on claim status requestsClose settled claims and ensure proper disbursement of settlement checksProvide loss experience reports upon request (Commercial Lines)Organize first reports and associated billsServe as liaison between employer, employee, and carrierQualifications: High School Diploma required; college degree preferredMinimum of 1 year of experience in personal lines insurance customer service, sales or account managementActive Illinois Property & Casualty license required, or the willingness to obtain the licenseThorough understanding of insurance coverages, underwriting, rating, claims processes, billing and collections proceduresWorking knowledge of Applied Epic desired; will consider experience with related agency management systemsProficiency with Microsoft Office SuiteStrong oral and written communication abilitiesProfessional phone etiquette with a service-focused approachProven sales acumen and account development skillsExcellent interpersonal and client relationship skillsStrong organizational skills with attention to detailCommitment to continuing education and advancement of technical insurance knowledge through approved courses or professional programsAbility to pass a criminal background check, as permitted by lawPhysical Requirements:Frequently sit, stand and walkRegularly required to talk or hearFrequently required to use hands or fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controlsOccasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
