Accounting Associate

Accounting AssociateHF Sinclair is seeking an Accounting Associate in Artesia, NM. In this role, you will be responsible for routine bookkeeping and accounting related clerical work and fiscal record keeping. Under moderate supervision, ensures all accounting assignments are completed including paying accounts and posting all invoices to provide accurate management reports.Job Duties:Prepares various accounting statements and reportsPrepares, updates, and maintains files daily/monthlyProcesses end of month journal entriesProcesses invoices for payment and may communicate with vendors concerning invoice issuesMay perform some or all of the following duties:Reconciles inventory between terminals and accountingMeasures volumes and track actual vs. budgeted volumes by sitePrepares diesel and jet fuel entriesTracks and enters all branding master file additions, changes, de-brandingReconciles exchange between companiesSets up new carriers for the HEP Terminals, supporting the TopHat system and provides backup for the TopHat CoordinatorProvides support and clerical help for submitting requisitions in the DataStream systemProvides clerical support and relieves other area staff as neededMaintains project and general files for the administrative areaSpecial assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretionExperience:A minimum of 2 years of related work experience in an office setting is required.Preferred Experience: Experience in AccountingEducation Level: A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent is required.Preferred Educational Level: Associates degree or higher is preferred.Required Skills:Ability to perform routine accounting analysis.Working knowledge of Microsoft products, accounting and maintenance software, and accounting practices and procedures.Familiarity with the operation of general office equipment such as ten key calculators, fax and copy machines.Ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal communication, ability to perform intermediate mathematical calculations, and intermediate reading and writing skills.Work Conditions:Office basedBenefits:HF Sinclair offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support the well-being of our employees and their families.
