Telecommunications Project Manager
Job location: Storrs, CTKey ResponsibilitiesLead planning, execution, and delivery of telecommunications initiatives including wireless infrastructure upgrades (WALR), VoIP conversion projects, and campus network modernization.Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and reporting using MS Project and related tools.Track project budgets, funding allocations, and financial reconciliation in collaboration with the ITS Business Office.Coordinate work across technical teams including Network Engineering, Network Operations, Physical Infrastructure Planning, and external vendors.Oversee VoIP migration planning and building conversion efforts, including communication with campus stakeholders and coordination with service providers.Manage vendor relationships and support procurement, installation, and implementation activities.Monitor project progress, risks, dependencies, and deliverables while ensuring alignment with project timelines and funding constraints.Provide regular status updates and reporting to ITS leadership and the Project Management Office (PMO).Required SkillsExperience managing technical or infrastructure projectsStrong project planning and tracking skills using MS Project and ExcelAbility to manage budgets, schedules, and multiple concurrent initiativesStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced and evolving technical environmentPreferred QualificationsExperience managing network, telecommunications, or IT infrastructure projectsFamiliarity with VoIP systems, wireless networks, and telecom technologiesExperience working within higher education or large enterprise IT environments
