Automotive Technician
Job Summary:
A Toyota automotive technician is responsible for the maintenance and repair of the vehicles that come in for service and inspections.
Job Responsibilities:
Keeps equipment available for use by inspecting and testing vehicles; completing preventive maintenance such as, engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation and changes, wheel balancing, replacing filters.
Maintains vehicle functional condition by listening to operator complaints; conducting inspections; repairing engine failures; repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions; replacing parts and components.
Verifies vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems.
Complies with state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
Maintains vehicle records by recording service and repairs.
Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
Contains costs by using warranty; evaluating service and parts options.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
Thoroughly documents all vehicles findings via RO's and inspection reports.
Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or GED preferred.
· ASE certification highly preferred.
· Must have at least 2 years of Automotive repair experience.
· Must be able to multi task and have good time management skills
· Must have a open work schedule availability for night and weekend shifts
Physical Capacity & Work Environment:
· Continuous walking and/or standing for up to twelve hours per day
· Frequent bending and sitting
· Frequently works in in-climate hot and cold weather
· Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
