Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 10 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year required; new travelers are accepted License: GA or Compact license required Certifications: BLS required; Flu vaccine required - medical/religious exemptions only Must-Have: - Patient Population: Adults to Geriatrics - General Skills: Renal Med Surg - Patient Ratio: 1:5-6; 49 rooms with average daily census of 48 - Unit Systems: Epic required, Pyxis, SBAR Description: Minimum of 1 year experience required; first-time travelers are accepted. Patient population includes adults and geriatrics. Required skills include renal medical-surgical nursing. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5-6 with an average daily census of 48. Knowledge of the Epic charting system is necessary. The unit features 49 rooms. Weekends will be scheduled every other weekend unless specified otherwise. Floating may be required within facility and scope of practice as needed. There are no call requirements associated with this position. If assigned during a major holiday, the traveler is expected to work accordingly. Holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day. Full compliance is required to start on time; non-compliance may result in a delay of up to two weeks. The facility supports various interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Skills necessary for this role include but are not limited to: - BiPAP/CPAP management - Blood product administration - Central line blood draw - Feeding tube care and management - High flow nasal cannula administration - Isolation precautions and PPE - IV maintenance and management - Telemetry and remote monitoring - Wound care management The unit provides support such as IV teams, social services, and rapid response teams. Candidates must meet all clinical requirements and comply with health and safety regulations. Travel experience is preferred but not required.
