Audit Director – Assurance & Advisory – State and Local Government Fast track to Leadership – Flexible work culture – Hybrid work settingThe Audit Director serves as the bridge between the Partner, the client, and the skilled staff. Directors are tasked with overseeing several auditing and accounting projects and client engagements concurrently, as well as managing engagement workflow. They also play a key role in developing and training staff and establishing connections to bring in new business. The Director is well-versed in the responsibilities of the role and has been earmarked for future advancement within the organization.ResponsibilitiesMaintaining strong client relationships and in-depth knowledge of the client's business.Leading audits, reviews, and accounting engagements as required.Approving attest opinions on behalf of the firm.Oversight of all phases of engagements to ensure compliance with accounting standards.Communicating important updates and addressing issues on client accounts.Ensuring proper scheduling of engagements.Acting as an industry expert for not-for-profit clients.Supervising engagement teams and providing training.Assisting in recruitment and business development efforts.Conducting initial communications with prospective clients and attending client meetings.Adhering to firm policies and procedures.QualificationsAround 10 years of public accounting experience, including 2 years in a senior manager role.Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.Active CPA license.Ability to travel to client locations.Demonstrated track record of bringing in new business.In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and standards.Experience in directing, reviewing, and training staff.Working ConditionsHybrid work environment with flexibility to work from home, office, or client sites.Same day travel for client meetings and work.Occasional overnight travel for client engagements or seminars.Overtime work may be required during peak periods.
