Designs systems, materials, components, software, and methodologies to meet customer requirements. Participates in test design and performs routine procurement, fabrication, and assembly of components, test fixtures, and test systems. Supports the coordination of test requirements and assists in reviewing test methods and capabilities. Facilitates systems integration, fabrication, and modification; supports system pre-test setup, integration, checkout, and post-test tear-down. Conducts routine tests, analyzes data, and documents results. Troubleshoots and recommends resolution of basic laboratory and test-related problems. Works under general supervision.Day to Day:Installing and maintaining flight simulation equipment consisting of computers, monitors, audio systems, visual systems, crew stations, and rack equipmentTroubleshoot and resolve electronic hardware issues with minimum downtimePlans, conducts, and documents tests on products, systems, components, materials, and manufacturing processes and technologiesDesigns, fabricates, builds, and analyzes test systems, materials, components, software, and methodologiesCoordinates test requirements, determines test methods and capabilitiesConducts system test preparations by coordinating system integration, fabrication, modification, setup, checkout, and tear-downTroubleshoots and resolves laboratory and test-related problemsCoordinates test laboratory activities, maintenance, and repairsCoaches and trains othersWorks under general direction Required Experience:Minimum of 3 years of experience with fabrication and/or assembly of mechanical or electrical systems utilizing production industry standardsMinimum of 3 years working in an engineering lab environment or comparable military experienceMinimum of 3 years of experience reading and understanding engineering drawings and schematicsMinimum of 3 years of experience working with flight simulation equipmentMinimum of 3 years of experience maintaining computer hardware Preferred Skills:Experience with Mil-Spec connector terminationExperience with Mil-Spec fiber optic termination and splicingAn active US Secret Clearance
