Oklahoma City, OKPosition SummaryThe Controller will lead all accounting and financial reporting functions for a growing oil and gas company. This role is responsible for overseeing general ledger, revenue accounting, joint interest billing, production accounting, and financial compliance. The ideal candidate has deep industry experience and a strong understanding of accounting practices, regulatory requirements, and operational reporting.Key Responsibilities Oversee all accounting operations including general ledger, revenue, AP/AR, fixed assets, and payrollManage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reportingSupervise oil & gas-specific accounting functions including:Revenue accountingJoint Interest Billing and working interest billingProduction accounting and volume reconciliationEnsure compliance with GAAP and industry-specific accounting standardsPrepare and review financial statements, internal reports, and variance analysesCoordinate and manage external audits, including preparation of audit schedules and supporting documentationOversee regulatory reportingMaintain and improve internal controls and accounting policiesPartner with operations, land, and engineering teams to ensure accurate financial data and reportingLead, mentor, and develop the accounting teamAssist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow managementSupport strategic initiatives, acquisitions, and system implementations as neededQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance requiredCPA designation strongly preferred7+ years of accounting experience, with at least 3–5 years in the oil & gas industryPrior leadership or supervisory experience requiredStrong knowledge of oil & gas accounting, including JIB and revenue accountingExperience with industry accounting softwareAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft ExcelStrong understanding of internal controls and audit processes$130k - $150k depending on education and experience including bonus potential.
