Patient Coordinator

Job SummaryWe are seeking a detail-oriented Patient Coordinator to serve as the first point of contact for patients in a busy outpatient medical practice. This role is responsible for patient registration, insurance verification, appointment scheduling, and ensuring a smooth front-desk workflow while delivering excellent customer service. The ideal candidate has recent experience working in a physician office and is comfortable managing high call volumes and electronic medical record systems such as EPIC.Key ResponsibilitiesGreet and check in patients in person and over the phone in a professional mannerVerify and update patient demographics and insurance eligibilityConfirm provider participation and obtain referrals/authorizations when requiredCollect co-payments and provide receipts following cash-handling proceduresSchedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointmentsMaintain accurate patient records in EMR/Practice Management system (EPIC preferred)Answer multi-line phones and manage high call volumePrepare and process patient intake and HIPAA documentationCommunicate patient arrival and status to clinical staffProvide wait-time updates and assist with patient flowInitiate reminder calls and follow-up appointmentsAssist with basic charge entry and payment posting when neededMaintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulationsRequired QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED requiredMinimum 2 years recent experience as a Patient Coordinator / Medical Receptionist in a physician officeExperience with insurance verification, referrals, and copay collectionProficiency using EMR/Practice Management systems (EPIC strongly preferred)Strong keyboarding and computer skillsExcellent communication and customer service skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced healthcare environmentPreferred QualificationsKnowledge of medical terminologyExperience with prior authorizationsMulti-specialty clinic experienceBilingual abilities a plusWork Environment & Physical RequirementsProlonged sitting and standing at front deskFrequent computer and telephone useOccasional bending, filing, and document handlingInteraction with diverse patient populationsPride Health offers eligible employees comprehensive healthcare coverage (medical, dental, and vision plans), supplemental coverage (accident insurance, critical illness insurance, and hospital indemnity), 401(k)-retirement savings, life & disability insurance, an employee assistance program, legal support, auto, home insurance, pet insurance, and employee discounts with preferred vendors
