DescriptionManage the Omega Optical quality program by establishing and maintaining procedures that govern the quality system. Establish quality compliance objectives, in conjunction with operating staff, and ensure targets are communicated and achieved. In general, the Quality Control Manager’s work is to be performed in support of the Omega Optical Quality Management Systems Policy.RequirementsSPECIFIC DUTIES, ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Responsible for assuring material and product quality at receipt and prior to shipment. Develops, deploys, monitors, evaluates, maintains and, in general, manages a comprehensive quality system. Effectively manage / supervise the Quality Control department consistent with Employee Handbook requirements. Leads investigation on all customer issues Maintains and updates QCAR status Responsible for managing our ISO9001 program that includes OTI processes, equipment calibration, conformance to customer requirements, and customer satisfaction metrics. ISO Project Manager- annual audit Lead all internal quality audits Promote a cross functional team approach to resolve quality issues Teams with engineering, production, sales, supply manager and other project members to effectively and efficiently transfer new product or processes from concept to production. Responsible for Quality Department budget. Responsible for the management of all our quality metrics / measurements Lead the quality initiative process for all departments and promote continuous improvements. Other duties as assigned.SUPERVISES: Quality Department StaffPosition RequirementsEducation/Training: Required: A four-year degree in Technology or equivalent experience.Preferred: An MS degree in EngineeringExperience: Required: greater than 5 years of management experience in the manufacturing or coating of or optical componentsPreferred: greater than 5 years as QC Manager for a company that manufactures or assembles optical componentsKnowledge/Skills: Ability to use basic SPC tools to collect data and evaluate product performance.Ability to perform quality audits.Skilled at developing team synergy and coordinating team efforts.Basic understanding of the physical nature of optical materials and opticsWorking knowledge of equipment used to measure mechanical and optical properties of optical elements.Knowledge of ISO, military, and industrial standards for optical componentsGood verbal and written communication skillsGood organizational skillsPhysical/Mental Requirements Ability to work independently, while organizing and processing multiple tasks. Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet month-end deadlines. Ability to sit, stand, or walk regularly, and occasionally lift 30 pounds. Ability to travel to other facilities, customer & vendor sites (Air, Car, Train, Bus)Work EnvironmentThis position will be working primarily indoors in a climate-controlled, smoke-free environment, but also requires the employee to be moving through other areas on a regular basis. From this movement, the employee will encounter varying temperatures from these areas. Normal auto and air travel hazards will apply. The noise level in the work environment is typically low. Provide divisional support as needed.
