Quality Inspector - 2nd Shift

JOB SUMMARYThe Mechanical Quality Inspector is responsible for the First Article Inspection and ensures product conformity to establish requirements by evaluating product to customer and Engineering drawings, specifications, and other related documents. Coordinates the receiving, in-process and final product inspections, and documents results in various reports and logs in the Quality System Network. Second Shift Hours: 3:00pm - 11:00pm, Monday - FridayDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESFundamental mechanical and mathematical inspection knowledgeFamiliar with the use of all inspection hand gauging including but not limited to, micrometers, thread gauges, dial indicators, calipers, height gauges, etcEnsure proper operation of measurement equipment by following operating instructions. Robust knowledge of GD&T, blueprint, and spec interpretationWork and adhere to quality management systems and requirements (i.e., training, policies, procedures, document control)Assists Engineering and Manufacturing in the investigation of non-conformities. Maintains a safe and clean work environment by following guidelines and procedures and complying with all applicable regulations. Performs other duties as assigned REQUIRED SKILLS / ATTRIBUTESGD&T Experience RequiredExperience with inspection equipment such as - Mics, Calipers, Opticals, and Micro heightsExtensive knowledge of software and database testing including designing and manipulating test data, validating stored jobs, and error replicationExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to create test plans and cases from specifications or verbal communicationsExcellent interpersonal skills with the ability to serve as a liaison with developers, project managers, and customer supportStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsProficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEAerospace experience OR AS9100Lean Manufacturing is a plus5+ years preferred experience and /or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceHigh school diploma or GED required QUALIFICATIONSEffectively communicate and understand job instructions both verbally and written in the English language. Ability to effectively interpret and translate instructions to other employees in a professional and respectful mannerAbility to perform basic mathematical computations. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situationsAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
