Clerk II (Chief Technology Office Research Intern)This is an internship available only to students currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a college or university as an undergraduate or graduate student with a major or course work in computer science, public administration, business management, mathematics or a related field. Students applying for this position must possess academic performance that is considered in good standing by college/university standards.Position Summary: The Strategic Digital Services department of the Chief Technology Office provides direction and guidance in digital technology strategies and DIR solutions for agencies across the State of Texas. Work involves assisting strategic digital plans, goals, and objectives with agencies, IT departments, and senior leaders to align digital technology plans with business goals. The ideal student will have a high comfort level with new and emerging technology with a focus on the future.Qualifications: Education: A recent graduate, or a student currently enrolled in a college or university as an undergraduate or graduate, with a major or course work in computer science, public administration, business, mathematics, or a related field. Must possess academic performance that is considered in good academic standing by college/university standards (High school diploma required). Skills: Knowledge of office procedures; spelling, punctuation, and grammar; business or program terminology, methods, and procedures. Skilled in the use of MS Office suite of applications including Word, Excel, and Power Point. Ability to research and report on findings in a clear and concise manner. Ability to think strategically and tactically. Analytical and critical thinking skills. Creative problem-solving skills. Presentation skills. Ability to prepare and maintain records, files, and reports; to transfer stock from one location to another; and to communicate effectively. Demonstrated ability to work on concurrent tasks while effectively prioritizing and coordinating work assignments. Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions. Ability to understand, follow and convey brief oral and/or written instructions. Ability to establish and maintain effective and cordial working relationships at all organizational levels, including agency management, direct supervisors, co-workers, internal and external customers.
