Job Details Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,640 – $1,730 Location: Asheville, NC (28801) — travel nurse assignment / NC travel nurse job Setting: Emergency Department (ED) / Emergency Room (ER) Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 27, 2026 – July 27, 2026) Shift: 12 Hour Days (8:45 AM – 9:15 PM) Hours per Week: 36 Orientation: 4-hour hospital orientation 8-hour shift on the floor Scrub Color: Navy, white, or a combination Job Requirements / Qualifications Minimum 2 years of experience in a Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume (100,000 visit) Emergency Department At least 1 year of direct ER nurse experience (emergency department nurse / ER RN) Active RN license (North Carolina RN or multistate compact RN preferred) Required certifications before start: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS ENPC required within 90 days of hire Strong teamwork mentality, flexibility to work all areas of the ED, and ability to float between sections Coaching ability with real-time feedback and commitment to a positive patient experience Responsibilities — Emergency Department (ED) / ER Nurse Provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a busy Emergency Department (101 beds) as a travel ER nurse Manage typical patient ratios ~4:1 for medical patients and up to 7:1 for ED behavioral holds Triage, trauma care, stroke assessment, and rapid clinical decision-making in a Level 2 trauma & comprehensive stroke center Use and monitor Baxter infusion pumps and GE cardiac/monitoring systems; document care in Cerner electronic health record Collaborate closely with techs, unit clerks, physicians, and interdisciplinary staff to ensure smooth patient flow Float within all sections of the ED as needed, maintain up-to-date patient boards, and communicate clearly throughout patient visits Follow hospital policies and safety guidelines, including a tobacco-free campus policy This department is celebrated for strong teamwork, welcoming staff, and dedication to serving Asheville's diverse, multicultural community.
