Architectural Interior Designer
Bria Hammel Interiors is seeking a talented Architectural Interior Designer to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a designer who enjoys both the technical side of residential design and the creative process of furnishing a home. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded interior designer who is confident working alongside architects and builders on architectural elements, while also leading the furniture layouts, materials, and finish selections that bring a home together. This role is not solely focused on construction documentation. The Architectural Interior Designer will manage projects from concept through installation, contributing to both the architectural framework of the home and the full interior design plan that defines Bria Hammel Interiors. Under the direction of the Director of Design and CEO, the Architectural Interior Designer will manage residential design projects from beginning to end. This role requires strong capabilities in space planning, architectural coordination, furniture planning, and finish selections.ABOUT BRIA HAMMEL INTERIORSAt Bria Hammel Interiors, we believe a well-designed home tells a story - one of warmth, beauty, and intentionality. From accessory design for client installations to photoshoot styling and e-design package development, this role is essential in bringing the final layer of our designs to life.DESCRIPTIONARCHITECTURAL & CONSTRUCTION COLLABORATIONCollaborate with architects and builders during the pre-design and schematic phases of projectsContribute to space planning, floor plans, and architectural layoutsDevelop and detail interior architectural elements including millwork, cabinetry, ceiling details, and builtinsReview and interpret construction drawings and architectural plansCommunicate design intent to builders and contractors during constructionParticipate in construction meetings and site visitsINTERIOR DESIGN & FURNITURE PLANNINGLead the interior design vision for residential projects from concept through completionDevelop furniture layouts and plans for each spaceCollaborate with the internal team on pricing, procurement, and installation planningCreate design presentations including boards, drawings, and material palettesSelect and specify: Furniture, lighting, textiles, materials and finishesPROJECT MANAGEMENTManage projects through all phases including: Pre design, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administrationServe as the primary client contact throughout the project lifecycleCoordinate with design assistants, pricing coordinators, and expeditorsManage timelines, budgets, and project deliverablesINSTALLATION & EXECUTIONAttend project installations to ensure the design plan is executed properlyWork closely with the team and stylist during installation to ensure furniture placement aligns with the design intentTravel for project installations as neededQUALIFICATIONS2–4 year degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or related field5+ years of residential interior design experienceStrong understanding of residential construction and architectural planningAbility to read and interpret construction drawings and architectural plansExperience developing furniture plans and interior material palettesExceptional organizational and communication skillsStrong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projectsSOFTWARE EXPERIENCEAutoCADCanvaMicrosoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)BENEFITSHybrid work environment (Monday–Thursday in office, Friday remote opportunity)PTO11+ paid holidaysWeek off between Christmas and New Year’sSummer Fridays (off at 1:00 PM Memorial Day through Labor Day)Medical insurance (50% company paid)401k with company matchLife insuranceParental leaveEmployee discounts across company brandsOpportunity for annual bonusBria Hammel Interiors is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.
