Technician Assistant

Saber serves clients locally, nationally, and abroad.Position SummaryThe Technician Assistant supports certified NETA technicians in the inspection, testing, maintenance, and commissioning of electrical power systems. This entry-level role is designed for individuals seeking hands-on experience in electrical testing while working in compliance with NETA standards, NFPA, OSHA, and company safety policies.Duties And ResponsibilitiesAssist lead technicians with electrical testing of power distribution systems, including:SwitchgearCircuit breakersProtective relaysTransformersCables and grounding systemsSet up, operate, and break down test equipment under supervisionPerform visual inspections and basic mechanical and electrical checksAccurately document test data and field observationsMaintain tools, test equipment, and work areas in safe working conditionFollow all safety procedures, including PPE requirements and lockout/tagout (LOTO)Support troubleshooting and corrective maintenance activitiesTravel to job sites as required, including industrial, commercial, and utility facilitiesAssist with job site organization and housekeepingParticipate in training and development toward technician certificationPerform other job-related duties as requested by management.Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Basic understanding of electrical theory or power systems (trade school or coursework preferred) Ability to read basic electrical drawings and schematics Prior experience in electrical construction, maintenance, or testing Familiarity with NETA, NFPA 70E, and OSHA safety standards Skills: Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
