Crunchafi is seeking a VP of Engineering to lead and scale our engineering organization through its next phase of growth. This is an executive-level role that sets the technical vision, shapes our AI-first engineering culture, and is accountable for the architecture, reliability, and velocity of our platform. The ideal candidate is a proven engineering leader who has built and scaled high-performing teams in a SaaS environment someone who codes with conviction, leads with clarity, and sees AI not as a bolt-on feature but as the default starting point for every engineering decision. You will partner closely with the CTO and cross-functional leadership to define how we build, what we build on, and how AI accelerates both. For us, AI-first means our engineers build with agentic tools, design systems around AI agents, and treat autonomous AI workflows as a standard architectural pattern not an advanced topic. Responsibilities: Own and evolve the engineering organization hiring, structure, culture, and career development across all engineering functions Define and execute a technology strategy centered on AI-first product development, Azure PaaS, and modern.NET architecture Champion the adoption of agentic AI across both the product and engineering workflow including Azure OpenAI Service, Semantic Kernel, and tools like Claude Code and OpenAI Codex that allow engineers to build software, not just autocomplete it Lead architectural decision-making across the full stack: C#.NET Core APIs, Azure PaaS services, and modern web frontends Establish and enforce engineering standards: code quality, CI/CD, security, observability, and reliability practices Drive the roadmap for platform scalability and cloud cost efficiency on Azure, leveraging App Services, Azure SQL, Service Bus, Azure Functions, and related PaaS offerings Collaborate with Product and Design to translate business strategy into technical execution, maintaining alignment without sacrificing engineering rigor Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies and frameworks particularly in the AI/ML space to keep the platform competitive and ahead of the market Represent engineering at the executive level; communicate technical strategy, risk, and investment tradeoffs clearly to non-technical stakeholders Foster a culture of continuous improvement, blameless learning, and measurable outcomes Required Qualifications: 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 4+ years in a senior engineering leadership role (Director, VP, or equivalent) Deep, hands-on background in C# and the.NET ecosystem (.NET 6+, ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework Core) Proven experience designing and scaling enterprise SaaS applications on Microsoft Azure PaaS (App Services, Azure SQL, Service Bus, Azure Functions, Key Vault, API Management, etc.) Demonstrated track record of embedding AI into products and engineering workflows including agentic AI systems, LLM orchestration, and hands-on use of tools like Claude Code or OpenAI Codex to build software at speed Strong architectural instincts across distributed systems, event-driven architecture, and microservices Experience building, mentoring, and retaining high-performing engineering teams in a remote-first environment Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical complexity into business outcomes Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field Experience in accounting, financial services, or B2B SaaS Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks and the ability to make informed architectural decisions across diverse UI stacks Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, Docker, and observability tooling (App Insights, Seq, Sonar) Azure certifications (AZ-204, AZ-305, or equivalent) are a plus Background in responsible AI practices, AI governance, or compliance-aware AI implementation Our Values: Be Human, Be Real We bring authenticity to everything we do Integrity We do the right thing, even when no one is watching Excellence We hold ourselves to the highest standard Self-Motivation We take ownership and drive results Curiosity We ask questions and seek better ways Collaboration We win as a team Benefits: Competitive salary Health, dental, and vision plans 401(k) Retirement savings plan for US-based employees 100% remote work environment, with occasional travel for in-person company and/or team meetings Unlimited PTO Significant professional development growth opportunities Dynamic and inclusive company culture with real commitment to our values
