If you join our team, you'll be contributing to building the technology that powers the future.About the RoleNscale is seeking a Principal Engineer, Platform & Infrastructure Security to serve as a senior individual contributor responsible for securing and hardening our global AI infrastructure.Reporting directly to the CISO, this is a deeply technical, hands-on engineering role. You will identify systemic risk across distributed systems, design durable security architectures, and write production-grade code to strengthen the foundation of our GPU cloud.You will partner closely with Platform Engineering, Networking, the CTO organization, and Product teams to embed security directly into infrastructure design and deployment. This is a builder's role.What You'll be DoingLead security architecture and engineering initiatives across compute, networking, storage, and control plane systems.Identify architectural and systemic risks in distributed, multi-tenant infrastructure.Design and implement scalable security controls through code and automation.Harden Kubernetes, virtualization layers, GPU workloads, and platform services.Strengthen identity, authentication, authorization, and secrets management systems.Partner with Networking teams on secure segmentation and traffic isolation strategies.Embed automated security validation and guardrails into CI/CD pipelines.Conduct deep technical design reviews and threat modeling exercises.Mentor and develop junior security engineers, raising the technical bar across the team.Partner with the CISO to shape long-term platform security strategy.Represent Nscale externally as a subject matter expert in infrastructure and cloud security.About YouRequired10+ years of hands-on security engineering experience in cloud, hyperscale infrastructure, or large distributed systems.Strong software engineering background with proficiency in Go, Python, Rust, or similar languages.Deep expertise in:Linux systems internalsKubernetes and container securityInfrastructure-as-Code (Terraform or equivalent)Cloud-native architecturesNetwork security and segmentationIdentity and access management systemProven experience securing multi-tenant environments at scale.Demonstrated ability to identify architectural risk and drive engineering-led remediation.Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to hiring and team building.Nice to HaveExperience in GPU, HPC, or AI infrastructure environments.Background in adversarial security research or red teaming.Public speaking, industry contributions, or open-source security work.Experience at a hyper-scale cloud provider or high-growth infrastructure company.Who You AreA builder who writes code and ships secure systems.A systems thinker who understands how complex infrastructure can be abused.Comfortable challenging technical decisions where risk exists.Influential without relying on authority.Recognized as an industry SME in platform and infrastructure security.What We Can Offer YouAt Nscale, you'll find a collaborative, supportive, and innovative environment where your contributions spark real impact.
