Director of Commercial Operations
OverviewThe Director of Commercial Operations is responsible for leading and aligning the Sales, Marketing, and Services functions for Rush Computer Rentals across North America. This role will drive revenue growth, optimize customer acquisition and retention, and enhance service delivery performance.This role also serves as a key driver of new business development and executive-level customer engagement, expanding Rush Computer Rentals' footprint with new logos and strategic accounts. The Director will represent the company at the senior customer level, positioning integrated solutions that include Device Lifecycle Services and data security offerings.This leader will develop and execute a cohesive commercial strategy, ensuring strong cross-functional alignment and accountability across all revenue-generating and customer-facing teams. The position requires deep industry expertise in PC hardware, rental and leasing solutions, and experience building strategic OEM partnerships.ResponsibilitiesCommercial Strategy & LeadershipDevelop and execute an integrated commercial strategy across sales, marketing, and service operationsOwn revenue growth, margin performance, and overall customer lifecycle outcomesEstablish KPIs, dashboards, and reporting frameworks to drive accountability and performancePartner with executive leadership on strategic planning, forecasting, and growth initiativesInside Sales & Revenue GrowthBuild, lead, and scale a high performing inside sales organization focused on speed, conversion, and customer experienceImplement best practices in pipeline management, lead qualification, and sales enablementDrive growth in rental and leasing solutions, including contract structuring and pricing strategiesImprove forecasting accuracy and sales productivity through CRM systems and data-driven insightsCollaborate with field sales teams and channel partners as applicableMarketing & Demand GenerationDevelop and align integrated marketing strategies to generate high-quality inbound and outbound demandPartner closely with sales leadership to maximize lead conversion and return on marketing investmentSupport development of digital marketing campaigns, content strategy, and brand positioningAnalyze market trends, customer behavior, and competitive dynamics to inform strategyBusiness Development & Executive EngagementLead new logo acquisition strategy, targeting high-value customer segmentsBuild and maintain executive-level relationships (CIO, CTO, CFO, Procurement) within key accountsPartner with sales teams on strategic deals, including large-scale event opportunities, staffing, Professional Services, MSP and enterprise contractsRepresent the company in executive presentations, proposals, and industry eventsDrive expansion within existing accounts through cross-sell of lifecycle and service-based offeringsServices & Customer ExperienceOversee delivery of rental, deployment, and technical support servicesEnsure high levels of customer satisfaction, retention, and repeat businessDrive operational efficiency, scalability, and continuous process improvementPartner with operations teams to optimize asset utilization, readiness, and turnaround timesExpand and commercialize Device Lifecycle Services, including imaging, deployment, asset tracking, refresh, and dispositionIntegrate data security solutions into service offerings, including data wiping, chain-of-custody, and compliance-driven processesPartner with customers to design end-to-end device lifecycle strategies aligned with security and operational requirementsOEM & Strategic PartnershipsDevelop and manage relationships with key PC OEM partners (e.g., Dell, HP, Lenovo)Create and implement differentiated partner programs aligned with business growth objectivesAlign product strategy with OEM roadmaps to maintain competitive offeringsIdentify and pursue new partnership opportunities to expand capabilities and market reachGeneral development and new logo acquisitionExperience of engaging with executive-level stakeholders and leading complex, strategic sales cyclesFamiliarity with Device Lifecycle Services and data security practices within IT asset management or leasing environments10+ years of experience in the PC, IT hardware, or technology rental/leasing industryProven success leading inside sales teams with measurable revenue growth and productivity improvementsStrong experience in leasing, rental models, or asset-based financing solutionsDemonstrated success managing OEM or strategic supplier partnershipsExperience overseeing or closely aligning sales, marketing, and service functionsDeep understanding of B2B sales processes, CRM systems, and performance analytics
