This role is designed for an attorney with substantial hands-on experience drafting and implementing sophisticated tax planning and transactional structures for entrepreneurs, closely held businesses, and high-net-worth clients.This is a key leadership role within ATS and involves close collaboration with the firm's corporate practice group, significant client-facing responsibility, and independent management of complex matters from initial structuring through final implementation.APPLICATION PROCESSPlease follow the link to apply and complete the following assessment (5–10 minutes): https://go.cultureindex.com/p/GO7sUcrPx9Core ResponsibilitiesAdvanced Transactional Tax Planning & DraftingDirect the strategic design and execution of high-value tax planning initiatives, including:Tax-free mergers and acquisitions and related restructuringsMulti-tier corporate and partnership structuresComplex partnership agreements, including profits interestsSection 1202 QSBS planning and memorandaCorporate conversions, reorganizations, and recapitalizationsTranslate high-level designs into sequenced implementation plansEnsure strategic alignment and efficient execution across multi-party transactionsClient Strategy & Relationship ManagementServe as a primary client contact on advanced tax planning mattersExplain complex tax concepts clearly and practicallyCoordinate with clients, internal attorneys, and external advisorsBuild and maintain long-term client relationshipsCoordination and MentorshipCoordinate clients, advisors, and internal teams on implementation and design of tax strategiesOversee team execution and maintain high performance standardsMentor and guide junior and mid-level attorneys and staffMaintain productive relationships with external advisorsGrowth & Leadership OpportunityOpportunity to help scale a nationally recognized advanced tax planning platformParticipate in regional expansion initiativesShape team structure and hiring decisionsPotential pathway into practice group leadershipIDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILEDeep, substantive transactional tax experience with hands-on draftingAbility to operate independently with accountabilityStrong communication and relationship-management skillsProfessional presence in client-facing and internal settingsCalm leadership across complex, multi-party mattersExperience & QualificationsJuris Doctor from an accredited law schoolLL.M. in Taxation strongly preferred (or equivalent experience)8+ years post-JD tax practice with significant transactional drafting responsibilityBig-4 or accounting firm experience welcomed where it includes substantive planning and implementationCompliance-only backgrounds are unlikely to be a fitSelected candidates may be asked to provide a representative deal list and/or drafting sample demonstrating direct, hands-on involvement in advanced transactional tax planning and implementation.Compensation & BenefitsSalary Range – $170,000 – $188,000 (depending on experience)Quarterly Bonus Potential – from 3% to 16% of total realized revenue with no billable hour requirements.
