Construction Project Manager
JOB TITLE: CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER
REPORTS TO: VICE PRESIDENT
Job Description Summary:
At Barrett Made, you will provide overall administrative and technical management at the construction project site. You will oversee all on-site construction activities including, but not limited to, subcontractors, consultants AHJ officials, etc. You will be responsible for the completion of projects within specified budgets and schedules, and to the highest quality standards. This position requires business management skills, strong leadership, organizational and time management proficiencies, strong communication and a focus on client service. As a Project Manager, you will regularly interact with clients, vendors, other project stakeholders and our architecture team in a proactive, positive and supportive manner that always works to benefit the project outcome and promotes personal and professional growth. This position requires management of residential and commercial projects and their related requirements.
Essential Functions:

Manages the financial aspect of the project including cost reporting, forecasting, owner requisitions, payables, and subcontractor invoices and changes within project management software (Procore).
Manages Client and Architect relations and communications throughout the duration of construction to assure decisions are made with project interest and success in mind and assure project related decisions are executed in a timely manner in accordance with job schedule requirements (i.e. - works with project team to solve problems and finalize details creatively).
Manages Subcontractors and Suppliers and material ordering/preconstruction buyout and pricing
Manages, job related costs and negotiates Change Orders, RFIs, Submittals, Daily Logs, etc.
Manages and maintains jobsite, safety and work quality standards through regular presence on job site
Represents the company/leads project meetings
Prepares and maintains project schedule
Ensure construction efforts are in accordance with project budget, scope and design requirements/specifications
Manages project closeout and any related project warranty work beyond the completion of the project as required
Core Competencies:
Strong hands-on carpentry background and skills
Ability to work with and manage multiple projects, subcontractors and other project stakeholders
Thorough knowledge of contract language
Excellent written and oral communications skills
Strong presentation and negotiation skills
OSHA 30 Hour training
Ability to read and interpret project drawings and specifications
Working knowledge of project scheduling
Working knowledge of cost and labor projections
Strong computer skills – Email, Word, Excel, Procore Construction Software

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position oversees employees and is responsible for performance management. Success will be measured by the completion of projects within specified budgets and schedules, to the highest quality standards all while successfully maintaining client relations resulting in a positive and profitable project experience. Regular performance feedback will be provided by Barrett Made.
Position Type/Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 pm. This position occasionally requires long hours and some weekend work.
Travel:
Travel is primarily local during the business day, with occasional out of state and overnight travel. Less than 30% of time travel expected.
Required Education and Experience:
Preferred Bachelors’ Degree in Construction Management or Related Field of Study
10-15 years’ experience in the construction field
Thorough understanding of project scheduling software
Thorough understanding of job cost reporting, billing, and payable procedures
Thorough knowledge of contract language
Experience with Procore Construction Software.
