Software Developer

Job Summary Design, build, and support field-deployed quality control tools that verify sensor deployment accuracy for seismic crews. Translate operational requirements into reliable Windows desktop applications. Major Duties and Responsibilities * Develop and maintain C# Windows desktop applications for field QC and validation tools * Process and analyze sensor data to verify geophone placement, battery levels, and coordinate accuracy against project specifications * Provide technical support, training, and troubleshooting for field users deploying these tools * Collaborate with field operations, geophysics, and the internal IT team to define requirements and iterate on software features * Help formalize and implement software development standards, including Git workflows, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and documentation practices * Participate in occasional field training or site visits to ensure tools meet real-world operational needs * Support the ongoing migration of legacy Python/Fortran tools to modern C#/.NET architecture * Other duties as assigned Education/Experience * Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience) * Strong foundation in object-oriented programming and relational database design * Hands-on experience with SQL Server and writing efficient queries, joins, and stored procedures * Experience building and maintaining Windows-based desktop applications * Familiarity with Git for version control and collaborative development * Ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams in a fast-paced field environment * Self-starter mindset with strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation habits * Strong commitment to company values Physical Demands and Work Environment * Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. * Requires mobility to work in standard office setting and to use standard office equipment. * Requires ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds * Requires ability to see and read printed materials, and ability to hear and speak to community in person and over the phone * In addition, the work environment noise level is typically quiet or at a moderate level Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
