Associate Scientist

Position Title: Associate ScientistWork Location: Thousand Oaks, CA 91320Assignment Duration: 12 monthsCore hours: 10 AM - 4 PM. Typical start: ~9 AMPosition Summary: The ideal candidate is a BS- or MS-level scientist with hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture, recombinant protein expression, and strong aseptic technique. Candidates should have practical lab experience (preferably with CHO or similar systems such as HEK) and be able to quickly contribute to production pipeline work in a fast-paced environment.Key ResponsibilitiesFollow established protocols and perform routine production tasks to ensure reproducible and reliable results with limited supervision.Plan, monitor, conduct, analyze, and document experiments; interpret and present data.Engage in scientific discussions and communicate findings clearly to the team.Utilize standard laboratory equipment, including tissue culture and automation systems.Troubleshoot issues related to mammalian expression experiments.Contribute to internal and external reports and presentations.Coordinate resources required for end-to-end protein production processes.Exercise sound judgment in determining when to seek guidance versus working independently.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelors degree with 2+ years of industry experience OR Masters degree with up to 1 year of relevant experience.Degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or Analytical Chemistry.Experience in a biopharmaceutical or laboratory environment.Hands-on experience with aseptic techniques.Experience with recombinant protein expression.Familiarity with CHO or HEK cell culture systems.Equivalent combinations:Masters degree ORBachelors + 2 years ORAssociates + 4 years ORHigh School Diploma/GED + 6 years of experienceWorking Conditions & Physical DemandsLab-based role requiring daily onsite presence.Must be comfortable with variable lab schedules, including morning-intensive work.
