The ideal candidate will have strong experience in AWS and GCP data engineering, BigQuery, SQL, Spark, and a passion for transforming large datasets into actionable insights.Job Title: Data Engineer AWS DeveloperLocation: San Jose, CA (On-site)Duration: 6+ Months (Contract)Job Description:The Data Engineer AWS Developer is responsible for building and maintaining cloud-based data pipelines and analytics platforms. As a Data Engineer AWS Developer, you will work with large-scale datasets to design, develop, and optimize data architectures that support reporting, risk metrics, and advanced analytics. The Data Engineer AWS Developer will partner closely with business and technical stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvement and fraud mitigation. This Data Engineer AWS Developer role requires strong expertise in AWS, GCP BigQuery, SQL, and Spark. The Data Engineer AWS Developer will also lead long-term data initiatives and ensure reliable delivery of data solutions aligned with business objectives.Key Responsibilities:Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines on AWS and GCP.Architect and manage data ingestion from multiple data sources into BigQuery.Develop risk metrics, dashboards, reports, and analytical datasets.Analyze large datasets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.Build tools and frameworks to streamline data processing and analytics workflows.Work extensively with SQL, Spark, Hive, and Hadoop HDFS environments.Collaborate with functional leaders to align data solutions with business goals.Plan and execute long-term data engineering projects from initiation to delivery.Communicate project updates and insights clearly to stakeholders and senior leadership. Required Qualifications & Experience:6-8 years of experience as a Data Engineer AWS Developer or in similar data engineering roles.6+ years of hands-on experience with SQL and Spark (mandatory).6+ years of experience working with large-scale data processing frameworks.5+ years of experience with AWS cloud services.5+ years of experience architecting data pipelines using Google BigQuery.4+ years of experience with GCP services such as DataProc and Google Cloud Storage (GCS).Strong data analysis skills with experience querying large datasets.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Experience working with finance or treasury datasets is preferred.GCP certification is preferred.
