Senior AV Systems Designer
Job Title: Senior Associate – Technology, AVDepartment: Cerami & Associates, IncReports To: Associate PrincipalFLSA Status: ExemptSUMMARYThis client-facing role is ideal for an experienced audiovisual systems professional. As a Senior Associate, you will serve as a trusted advisor, guiding clients through the planning, designing, and implementing integrated technology solutions that align with project goals, budgets, and timelines. You will collaborate closely with clients, architects, engineers, and internal teams to deliver strategic, innovative system designs. In addition to leading technical solutions, you will manage project teams, draft proposals, and oversee execution. Reporting to the Studio Director, you’ll also monitor projects' financial and technical performance, ensuring high-quality outcomes and a seamless client experience.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Design and document enterprise-class audiovisual, control, intelligent building systems, and AV/IT network requirements to support the systemsProvide oversight to team members and ensure successful system deliveryDesign pathways and spaces, including equipment room rack/cabinet layouts and elevations, conduits, and cable trays, and specify infrastructure hardwareResearch products and work with manufacturers and vendors to ensure the viability of the system designsAssess client needs and develop a basis of design and budgetRead architectural drawings and create systems’ drawings and/or markups on supplied backgroundsProvide direction to and manage the internal project team(s) to produce high-quality deliverables within the project milestone datesProfitably manage each project from kickoff to completionManagement of and participation in AOC and A/E teams on the development of new construction and retrofit of office buildingsAbility to directly engage with our clients for long periods with minimal management direction or oversight necessaryMaintain client relationships and penetrate existing clientsEvaluate RFPs and develop proposalsAssist in marketing and business development processesREQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:Must be able to communicate and present to all corporate levels, possess excellent writing, speaking, and presentation skillsMust be a problem solver and team player who can work independently, productively, and with minimal supervisionExperience using Bluebeam, AutoCAD and Revit.Working knowledge of various Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Be detail-oriented and organized while multitasking and shifting priorities easily.Knowledge of existing and emerging technologies, along with integration capabilities of systems, is preferredEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:College-level education strongly desired5-10 years of experience in audiovisual technology systems design or design/build fieldNetwork design experience is a plusBackground should include systems design/integration, installation, project management, and systems research and developmentDesired certifications: AVIXA: CTS or CTS-D, and PMPExcellent communication skillsStrong ability to summarize, communicate, and track activity status
