Java Developer – AWS Cloud Migration

It is W2 role, Only USC candidate can apply,Only local candidate can apply.We are seeking a highly experienced Java Software Developer / Lead Software Engineer to support a major AWS application migration initiative for a healthcare technology client in Reston, VA.The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of Java development experience and 3+ years of hands-on AWS cloud migration experience, with strong expertise in Spring/Spring Boot, Microservices, IBM MQ, AWS services, databases, and backend application development.This role is focused on application migration and backend development, rather than infrastructure. The selected candidate will work on migrating legacy applications and notification/MQ service pipelines to AWS while supporting application design, development, testing, debugging, and production-related activities.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform complex analysis, design, development, testing, debugging, and maintenance of enterprise Java applications.Provide hands-on development support for AWS cloud migration of existing applications.Migrate backend applications and services to AWS using services such as EKS, EC2, API Gateway, Lambda, and related AWS technologies.Support migration and modernization of notification and IBM MQ service pipelines.Develop and maintain highly scalable Java/Spring/Spring Boot microservices.Analyze existing legacy code and understand, troubleshoot, and enhance code developed by other developers.Design and implement RESTful APIs and backend web services.Develop comprehensive unit and integration test cases using JUnit and/or TestNG.Work with relational and NoSQL databases, including Oracle, SQL, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL.Collaborate with architects, developers, business stakeholders, and project teams to define system scope, objectives, and technical requirements.Establish and follow project standards, development processes, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.Participate in code reviews, troubleshooting, technical analysis, and application performance improvements.Support API management and integration initiatives.Use Git/Bitbucket for source control and collaborative development.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant experience may be considered.10–12+ years of professional Java development experience.3+ years of hands-on AWS cloud migration experience, specifically migrating applications to the cloud.Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Batch, and Microservices.Strong experience with IBM MQ; Cloud Q experience is highly desirable.Hands-on experience with AWS services such as:EKSEC2AWS API GatewayLambdaOther AWS application/migration servicesStrong backend application development experience.Experience developing unit and integration tests using JUnit and/or TestNG.Strong database experience with technologies such as SQL, Oracle, MongoDB, and/or PostgreSQL.Experience developing and integrating Web Services / REST APIs.Ability to understand, troubleshoot, and enhance existing applications and codebases.Extensive experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
