Vice President of Finance & ControllerPosition OverviewReporting to the President, the Vice President of Finance & Controller will lead all financial functions, including accounting operations, financial planning & analysis, cash management, and strategic finance. This role ensures the integrity of financial reporting and controls while serving as a key advisor to executive leadership on growth, profitability, and capital allocation.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Finance & Business PartnershipServe as a key financial advisor to the CEO and President on growth strategy, profitability, and operational decisionsLead annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, and long-range planningDevelop and maintain robust financial models to support scenario planning, pricing, and investment decisionsProvide insights into key drivers: revenue growth, gross margin, inventory turns, and working capital efficiencyAccounting Leadership & Financial IntegrityOversee all accounting operations (AP, AR, GL, payroll, revenue recognition), ensuring accuracy and timelinessLead and continuously improve the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processEnsure GAAP-compliant financial statements and adherence to all regulatory requirementsEstablish and maintain strong internal controls and accounting policiesManage external auditors, tax advisors, and outsourced partnersFinancial Reporting & Performance AnalysisDeliver timely and accurate financial reporting packages to executive leadershipAnalyze performance against budget and KPIs, providing clear, actionable recommendationsBuild dashboards and reporting tools to enhance visibility across the businessSupport lender, investor, and board-level reporting requirements as applicableCash Flow, Capital & Operational FinanceOwn cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, and working capital optimizationOversee banking relationships and ensure compliance with any debt or credit facilitiesPartner with operations, supply chain, and merchandising teams to optimize inventory investment and cost of goods soldEvaluate capital allocation decisions, including investments in inventory, systems, and growth initiativesSystems, Scalability & Process ImprovementLead the development and optimization of ERP and financial systems to support scaleEnsure data integrity and streamline financial processes across the organizationDrive audit readiness and continuous improvement in controls and documentationLeadership & Team DevelopmentLead and develop a finance and accounting team (Controller-level reports, FP&A, and accounting staff)Set clear expectations, performance metrics, and accountability standardsCreate organizational structure that balances efficiency with scalabilityFoster cross-functional collaboration and financial discipline across departmentsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA and/or MBA preferred10–15+ years of progressive experience across accounting and finance leadership rolesProven ability to lead both accounting (Controller) and FP&A/strategic finance functionsStrong knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controlsExperience in apparel, retail, or consumer products strongly preferredExperience building and scaling financial systems and teamsStrong analytical, leadership, and communication skillsBenefitsCompetitive salaryComprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance401(k) retirement plan with company 4% matchingPaid time off, including holidaysEmployee discounts on company productsBenefits:401(k) matchingDental insuranceEmployee discountFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceHealth savings accountPaid time offVision insuranceWork Location: In person
