Production Foreman
The Foreman is responsible for overseeing a crew and/or contract staff in the normal day-to-day operations of company wells. The focus is on striving to achieve top quartile EHS performance while maximizing operational efficiencies and asset potential. Supervises the development and monitoring of specific field operation discipline (Production, Completions, Maintenance, Measurement, Fluid Movement, SCADA, Artificial Lift and Construction) enhancement and optimization efforts. Works in close collaboration with engineering, field, and EHS staff.Essential Roles & Responsibilities:In addition to the technical roles and responsibilities of a foreman of the specific discipline, the foreman is also responsible for the following:Participates in multi-disciplinary team meetings, providing production operations discipline specific inputDevelops good relationships with and effectively manages contractors and suppliersHandles invoice managementProvides production operations discipline input into the budget process and collaborates with superintendent and management to develop budget estimatesConfers with engineering personnel regarding status of projects and field related problemsEnsures completions and production operations are scheduled and conducted in such a way to minimize delays, safety issues, technical issues and risksConfirms well site contractors are properly approved with SCM GroupActively participate in monthly safety meetings and lead meetings as neededProvide relief for the other foreman as neededOn site supervision of contractors involved in workover and completion operations of oil and gas wells including acid and fracturing operations, coil tubing units, workover units, water handling, flow back services, roustabouts, cased-hole logging, and fishing operations Supervises and ensures performance is of the highest quality for all direct reportsParticipates in the performance reviews and personnel development efforts for all direct reports Remains current in the application of the latest proven technologies and methods used for their specific operation discipline in the production of oil and gas assetsRegular field trips with ability to work extended hours when requiredConducts business with the highest ethical standards Role-Specific Technical Knowledge & Skills:Supervise, direct and coordinate field employees and contractors engaged in production operationsMaximize production by monitoring well performance, minimizing downtime and addressing issuesConfer with engineering personnel regarding status of projects and field related problemsEnsure completions operations are scheduled and conducted in such a way to minimize delays, safety issues, technical issues and risksCollaborate with management to develop budget estimatesEnsures operational procedures are current and implementedMonitor production on each lease and strategize best course of actionPHYSICAL DEMANDS:Work in various weather conditions and environmentsMove, transport, and position equipment weighing up to 50 poundsManipulate valves, gauges, and other control mechanismsAbility to operate a motor vehicle to travel between well sites**Ability to climb up to 30 feet in height and function without fearAbility to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time Must meet and maintain eligibility requirements to drive a company vehicle OR valid state driver’s license and clean driving recordTypical Education:High School Degree or equivalent Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree a plusValid driver’s license is requiredTypical Experience:Minimum 8 Years Of Oil And Gas Experience.SM Energy offers competitive compensation and benefits programs which include, but are not limited to, variable pay, health care coverage, retirement plan, protection coverage, time off and leave programs, training and development opportunities and a range of allowances connected to specific work situations.
