Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: Active nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Previous charge experience - Experience with patient ratios - Proficiency in charting systems Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit. The nurse will manage a patient ratio of 1:3 on a 424-bed telemetry floor. The facility is a comprehensive stroke center and a Level II Trauma center. Care includes complex patients undergoing PCI and open-heart surgeries. Key patient diagnoses include heart failure, stroke, sepsis, renal failure, and respiratory failure. Skills should include management of dysrhythmias and blood product administration. Nurses will also perform central line and peripheral line management. Non-invasive airway management and isolation precautions are required. The unit provides interdisciplinary support through various therapeutic services. Special procedures include emergent cardioversion and central line placement.
