Ability to keep up with workload.Responsibilities Lead the development and administration of budgets including budget versus actuals analysis and fiscal projections. (40%)Monitors and reviews grant and contract activities to ensure compliance with federal requirements. Develops or modifies financial policies and guidelines. Reviews and updates journal vouchers, cash receipts, and other financial transactions. (25%)Examines and reviews clinical trials and other private awards to ensure the timely billing and collection of funds. Develops procedures to properly maintain and monitor such awards. (20%)Assists in the management and oversight of the Foundation's loss control and insurance program. Evaluates and monitors medical malpractice, property, and general liability risks to the Foundation. (5%)Assists the Director of Finance in developing policies and strategy to top management personnel on all facets of grant and contract research administration. (5%)Supervises the area responsible for the daily deposit and posting of cash receipts, recording of contributions, electronic drawdown requests, reconciliation of cash receipts, and maintenance of daily cash receipt logs. (5%)May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role. Supervisory ResponsibilitiesDirect Supervisor, direct authority to make decisions on the following: employee hiring, disciplinary action, starting salaries and merit increases.Conduct employee performance evaluations and directs work activities.Qualifications Education and ExperienceBachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field. Master's Degree preferred.Minimum of 6-8 years experience required.Required Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesStrong financial analysis skills is required. Knowledge of grants administration, fund accounting, and OMB Circulars (2 CFR 200).Strong analytical and communication skills.Strong initiative, sound judgement, and discretion.Ability to communicate with all levels of people.Strong attention to detail.Expert with Microsoft Excel.Work EnvironmentThis position will take place primarily in an office setting.
