Now, we are expanding our global team and looking for talented individuals like you!Position DescriptionTitle: Bandsaw/Perforator OperatorDepartment: PolyAir IPG ChicagoImmediate Supervisor: Plant Supervisory StaffStatus: Hourly UnionPosition Purpose: Operates Bandsaw and Perforator LinesShift: Monday - Friday 3 PM - 11:15 PMPrinciple Accountabilities:Set up and operate machine and all auxiliary equipment in a safe and efficient manner.Troubleshoot machine, make adjustments, referring major issues to Team leader, Supervisor or Maintenance.Locate unfinished product in warehouse and bring to conversion area by cart, hand truck etc. (no lift truck)Place product on bandsaw and trim to customer specifications per order ticket.Package finished product and label in prescribed manner.Manually move finished product to staging area.Keep accurate product data and records, as required.Maintain good housekeeping/ 5S standards in the work area.Provide on the job training for new operators, as appropriateOther associated duties as required.Essential Skills and Experience:High School Diploma or Equivalent required.2+ Years in a Manufacturing environment / general labor experience preferred.Intermediate math skills and English written communication skills necessary.Ability to stand and walk for up to 8-12 hours at a time requiredAbility to work in space limited work area on continuous basis.Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs on a consistent basisAbility to read and understand a tape measureGeneral computer knowledge and experience handling paperworkEffective interpersonal skillsAbility to perform the physical aspects of the role following recommended practices, with an emphasis on safety and injury preventionWhy Choose IPG?At IPG, you will find more than just a jobyou will find a place where your success is our success.
