Job SummaryThe Safety Coordinator / Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing safety operations on utility-scale construction projects, with a primary focus on solar and electrical infrastructure. This role supports onsite leadership, ensures OSHA compliance, and proactively identifies and mitigates workplace hazards to promote a safe and compliant work environmentKey ResponsibilitiesProvide safety oversight for utility-scale construction projects, ensuring adherence to OSHA regulations and company safety standardsSupport onsite management teams, including foremen and EPC construction crews, in implementing safety proceduresConduct daily coordination meetings with the Safety Manager and field leadership to review planned work activities and identify potential hazardsReview and support Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) to ensure risks are identified and mitigated prior to executionPerform routine site audits, inspections, and field observations to ensure compliance with safety protocols and PPE requirementsConduct regular field walkthroughs to monitor crew activities and reinforce safe work practicesInvestigate incidents, injuries, and near misses; manage all administrative documentation related to workplace injuriesCommunicate safety expectations clearly and escalate or document disciplinary actions when necessarySupport safety training efforts including orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing safety communication initiativesPartner with construction leadership to promote a proactive safety culture across all project phasesRequired QualificationsMinimum 3 years of construction safety experience , preferably in solar or utility-scale projectsOSHA 30 Certification required OSHA 500 preferredExperience working with low and medium voltage electrical systemsStrong knowledge of OSHA standards, safety procedures, and hazard mitigation practicesExperience conducting audits, inspections, and incident investigationsCurrent First Aid and CPR certification preferredCore SkillsConstruction Safety ManagementOSHA Compliance (30 / 500 preferred)Hazard Identification & Risk MitigationField Safety Audits & InspectionsIncident Investigation & ReportingSafety Training & CommunicationPPE Compliance EnforcementExperience LevelIntermediate Level (3+ years relevant experience)Work EnvironmentPrimarily field-based role on active construction sitesRequires frequent walking, site inspections, and interaction with field personnelExposure to outdoor conditions and active construction environmentsJob Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lost Hills, CA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
