What we are looking for in a Barista:
Baristas are the face of Café Kubal. Cafe Kubal is a locally owned, community driven Cafe Chain in Central New York. We roast our own beans and make our own food from scratch in our kitchen in downtown Syracuse and assemble and serve with happiness in our 6 cafes.
Barista Job Duties:
We are looking for people that love people. The cafe is a facility designed to make people happy and only comes to life with the right staff. If you feel fulfilled doing this, then you have found the right job.
Become familiar with our products to effectively steer the guests to the right selection.
Prepare and sell coffee drinks and food menu items by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques for coffee drinks, such as, espresso, pour over, and latte.
Exceed the customers expectations by making a game out of predicting what they might need- a stir stick, a napkin, a compliment…
Follow the health codes and corresponding company standards.
Embody empathy as an ability. Show it by your actions and feelings
Show respect for Cafe Kubal as a dynamic and fragile entity that will go how the people go within it.
Be innovative. Work outside just what your job description is when necessary. See the whole picture and find solutions in every situation.

Barista Skills and Qualifications:

No prior experience as a barista is needed. We can train you. Advancement is based open merit, not seniority.

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
