Medical AssistantThe Medical Assistant supports physicians and clinical staff in delivering high-quality patient care while providing excellent customer service to patients and the practice.Employees are expected to model the organization's core values of Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence, while demonstrating teamwork, collaboration, and a strong patient focus.Locations:Providence Johnston Middletown Barrington Warwick PLUS a new location coming soon!ResponsibilitiesAssist with direct patient care and clinical support tasksObtain patient histories, vital signs, and verify medicationsPrepare charts, complete data entry, and manage documentationPerform routine procedures including EKGs, rapid strep tests, urine dips, spirometry, and nebulizer treatmentsAdminister vaccines, injections, and medicationsEducate patients on medical instructions and care plansCoordinate referrals, pre-authorizations, and follow-up careMonitor quality reports and help close gaps in patient careMaintain medical supply inventory and vaccine storage complianceFollow OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and Department of Health regulationsProvide excellent customer service and patient careAttend trainings and perform additional duties as assignedMinimum QualificationsHigh School diploma or equivalent requiredCompletion of a Medical Assistant training programBasic Life Support (BLS) Certification required - American Heart AssociationExperience using EMR and scheduling software preferredStrong communication, organizational, and patient care skillsAbility to remain calm and professional in emergency situationsWork Environment & Physical RequirementsHealthcare setting with direct patient contactFrequent standing, walking, and use of medical equipmentAbility to lift supplies or assist patients up to 50 poundsAdherence to safety and infection control proceduresPay Range:$18.13-$29.90EEO Statement:Brown University Health is committed to providing equal employment opportunities and maintaining a work environment free from all forms of unlawful discrimination and harassment.
