RN Neuro Stepdown Nights
The Progressive Care Unit RN, as a professional practitioner, assumes the responsibility and accountability for delivering patient care to telemetry/progressive care patients. The Progressive Care Unit RN demonstrates the ability to make clinical judgments in an effective and efficient manner with supervision. This individual employs critical thinking and performance ability in the coordinator of patient care, consistently performs according to nursing standards, and is accountable in managing patient care and assisting others in the management of patient care. The Progressive Care Unit RN is sometimes also called a step-down nurse, cardiac stepdown, neuro stepdown, surgical stepdown and in some medical centers, the PCU is also known as a transition or intermedia unit. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care on a progressive care unitPerforms focused interviews to identify specific patients' needsAssesses signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in the patient's conditionCollects, analyzes, and interprets data and information from health care members and documents actual and/or potential nursing diagnosesDocuments the patient's plan of care using identified nursing diagnoses, expected patient outcomes, and selected nursing interventionsIdentifies and prioritizes actions based upon patient care requirementsPerforms interventions according to identified priorities, plan of care, and the hospital policies and patient care outcome standardProvides a safe, comfortable and therapeutic patient environmentInitiates and evaluates patient and/or family educationRevises the plan of care according to evaluation, changes in medical plan of care, effective/ineffective nursing interventionsDocuments patient's response to nursing and other interventionsUses clinical judgment in evaluation activities to meet patient care needs of an assigned unit/floor including establishing prioritiesMonitors safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipmentMinimum Requirements:Current Registered Nurse License for the state in which the nurse practicesOne year prior professional nursing experience preferred with one year progressive care unit experience preferredComplies with all relevant professional standards of practiceParticipation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicableCurrent CPR if applicableTB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicableCurrent Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)Must meet all federal, state and local requirementsSuccessful completion of new hire training as applicable to job siteUnderstand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirementsAbility to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is requiredComputer proficiency requiredMust be at least 18 years of ageBenefitsAt Amergis, we firmly believe that our employees are the heartbeat of our organization and we are happy to offer the following benefits:Competitive pay & weekly paychecksHealth, dental, vision, and life insurance401(k) savings planAwards and recognition programs*Benefit eligibility is dependent on employment status.About AmergisAmergis, formerly known as Maxim Healthcare Staffing, has served our clients and communities by connecting people to the work that matters since 1988.
