Division Director of Neurodevelopmental and Behavioral Pediatrics, Department of PediatricsThe University of Virginia Department of Pediatrics and Division of Neurodevelopmental and Behavioral Pediatrics (NDBP) invite applications for Division Director of NDBP. Applicants who are Board certified in Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics (DBP) or Neurodevelopmental Disability (NDD) or General Academic Pediatrics or Clinical Psychology (PhD) (with emphasis on children with disabilities including autism or complex care) at the rank of Associate or Full Professor are encouraged to apply.The Division Director is primarily responsible for creating and implementing the vision and goals for NDBP, in alignment with the broader strategic plans for the Department of Pediatrics and UVA Health Children's. The Division Director will lead the faculty in all clinical and academic mission areas, including clinical service (including our 3 Tracks of Care – motor/medical complexity, autism and other developmental differences, and at-risk child & family context), education of trainees at all levels (including our long standing DBP fellowship, in good standing), research program development, and administrative activities of all NDBP programs.Academic responsibilities include overseeing all divisional faculty, advancing their careers by providing professional and personal development opportunities, overseeing high-quality training, supporting research activities, and modeling a culture of inquiry to ensure active engagement in quality improvement, scholarly excellence, and innovation in all missions.Administrative responsibilities include creating an environment of excellence and innovation in clinical practice that supports positive patient outcomes. NDBP closely collaborates with the School of Education to maintain a state-of-the-art multi-tier autism assessment program and provides leadership and faculty for Blue Ridge LEND. Applicants with an active research program are preferred. The ideal candidate for the UVA NDBP Division Director position is an established academic DBP/NDD/General Academic Pediatrician/PhD with strong interdisciplinary leadership and clinical experience in motor, cognitive, and at-risk disabilities, including autism spectrum disorders.QualificationsThe position is open to individuals with MD, DO, PhD or equivalent degrees. The position is for tenure or non-tenure tracks at the professor or associate professor rank as appropriate.
