Our work in the energy industry has guided the energy transitions of major firms, established legal precedents in economics, and set new standards in market design and oversight. As an Associate Principal, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):Working closely with leading academics, managingthe research process, and supervising, training and mentoringjunior analystsConducting research in a supportive, team-oriented environmentActing as a primary point of contact for clients and assisting in the development and presentation of client deliverables including expert reports summarizing our opinions, conclusions, and recommendationsand third party financial, market and industry dataConsulting with attorneys and otherclients in industry and government on a wide variety of finance, strategy and economics issuesIndependently conceptualizingand identifying issues, designing complex economic and financial models to analyze economic and financial dataProgramming, model building and/or regression analysis in statistical analysis programs (such as Stata, SAS, R or Python)Ensuringthe integrity and accuracy of analyses and opinionsAssist regulators and financial institutions with analysis of trading on exchanges and in OTC markets for a wide spectrum of contractsWork with those testifying in judicial proceedings to provideeconomic analyses of mergers and other competition matters before the major competition authorities of the worldPerforming a broad range of quantitative consulting tasks related to energy markets and energy sector investments.Assisting in the production and development of research summaries, expert reports, and the presentation of findingsAnalyzing economic and financial data using spreadsheets and statistical programsConducting industry, market structure, and competitor-positioning studiesReviewing and summarizing analyst reports, client documents, and industry trade pressEnsuring the integrity and accuracy of analysesAssisting with Analyst recruiting effortsQualificationsBachelor's degree in economics, finance, or similar analytic discipline, advanced degree degree preferred;A minimum of five to seven years of professional experienceStrong interest in and knowledge of energy industryExperience with energy or environmental industries highly desirableExcellent presentation skills and writing abilityStrong problem solving abilities and resourcefulnessWorking well in a team environment, and willingness to provide mentorship and supervision to junior staff membersPrevious project and client management requiredTo ApplyTo be considered for a position in the United States, we require the following:Resume – please include current address, personal email and telephone number;Cover letter – please describe your interest in CRA and how this role matches your goals.If you are interested in applying for one of our international locations, please visit our Careers site to view and apply for available jobs.Career Growth and BenefitsCRA’s robust skills development programs, including a commitment to offering 100 hours of training annually through formal and informal programs, encourage you to thrive as an individual and team member. Stating pay within this range may vary based on factors such as education level, experience, skills, geographic location, market conditions, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
