An Assembler Technician assembles mechanical, hydraulic and electrical components to produce industrial assemblies conforming to product and customer specifications using hand tools, powered tools and material handling equipment. YOUR IMPACTUse and interpret blueprints, product specifications and technical specificationsUnderstanding and demonstrated performance of multiple work center requirements and manufacturing disciplinesTrouble shoot and problem solve assembly challenges and work with support departments to create corrective actionActive participation in team daily management and problem solvingWork as part of a team to achieve daily production goals in an industrial manufacturing environmentUse various types of hand tools in the assemblyUse and interpret mechanical drawings and bills of materialUse and interpret Standard Work, SOPs or Work Instructions to conform to process specificationsMake mechanical connections using nuts, bolts, washers, and screwsUse fitting equipment such as drills, files, and grindersMake electrical connections using prefabricated harnessesUse cutters, wire strippers and crimping toolsSelf-audit/inspect assembled work using drawings and checklistsInform Value Stream leadership of Safety or Quality non-conformances or opportunities for improvementParticipate in continuous improvement activitiesOther projects and responsibilities may be added at the company's discretionQUALIFICATIONS Education and ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalency certificate (GED)5+ years' experience with medium/heavy mechanical assembly requiredDemonstrated performance of thorough understanding of blueprints and technical documentationAbility to operate mechanical and electrical toolingAttention to detail, quality and safetyAbility to use judgment to perform and make decisions as to the sequence of setups, operations, and processes within the limitations of recognized or standard methods and proceduresAbility to work productively and cohesively in a diverse and multicultural environmentOshkosh is committed to working with and offering reasonable accommodations to job applicants with disabilities.
