Job Description: GENERAL SUMMARY:Collects, analyzes, and manages company and intellectual property information to investigate issues, concerns, and questions, ensure licensing agreement compliance, and identify potential licensing opportunities. Adheres to and/or contributes to the development of Qualcomm policies and procedures related to IP licensing as well as industry best practices and techniques to effectively address compliance needs. Works across teams to identify innovative solutions to issues and support IP licensing goals. Generates reports and provides insight based on data and information to facilitate informed decision-making regarding licensing processing.The responsibilities of this role include:Works under some supervision.Provides some supervision/guidance to other members; does not have direct reports.Responsible for own work. Decision-making is limited. Impact of decisions is readily apparent. Errors made typically only impact timeline (i.e., require additional time to correct).Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey basic, routine factual information about day-to-day activities to others who are fully knowledgeable in the subject area.Some tasks require multiple steps which must be performed in a specific order; directions or manuals can accurately document the steps necessary to perform the task.Some creativity may be required to troubleshoot technical problems or deal with Client circumstances.Limited problem solving required, generally in the nature of troubleshooting simple processes or technology.Incumbent's input may be solicited during strategic planning period.The responsibilities of this role do not include:Does not have financial accountability.Has no influence over key organizational decisions.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Applies knowledge of relevant Qualcomm policies, regulations, requirements, and rules to support IP licensing activities.Follows established guidelines and procedures to monitor licensee compliance with QTL licensing policies and procedures.Enters, updates, and processes relevant IP licensing data (e.g., licensee royalty certificate details, market or company research, product specifications) into databases; takes ownership to ensure data is clean and accurate.Analyzes data (e.g., trend analysis and reports, verification) and collects information from different sources with guidance to identify moderately complex issues and evaluate compliance with agreement terms.Collaborates with team to develop and implement solutions to moderately complex licensing issues or problems based on understanding of IP licensing principles, theories, and techniques.Generates reports and deliverables and extracts insights from data to support IP licensing related decisions.Collaborates with internal partners and some external stakeholders to support IP licensing goals with moderate oversight.Seeks opinions of others within own team about ways in which a problem can be addressed differently; works with management to implement the best solution.Learns new processes and approaches to accomplish work and recognizes ways to improve existing ones.Manages and completes individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables with some supervision.Solicits and follows guidance to make sound, ethical, and timely decisions.Comments for Suppliers: Job OverviewThe IP Licensing (Research) Analyst will support licensing processes by consolidating information for current and potential licensees to support management decision-making. They will identify potential licensing opportunities through qualitative research utilizing publicly available information as well as proprietary information services leveraged by QTL. In addition, the Analyst will conduct regular checks of company information to ensure QTL systems are updated. The Analyst will provide research to fulfill ad-hoc requests from cross-functional teams including legal, compliance, contracts, and finance to support business decisions.Preferred QualificationsMandarin speaking preferred.
