The incumbent is responsible for the day to day interactions with publishers and vendors, overseeing the firm’s library collection and integrated library system (i.e., catalog), coordinating the work of contract file clerks, and assisting with contract and subscription renewals. In addition, the Technical Services and Research Librarian assists with the administration and management of the firm’s electronic content platforms and assists with budgeting and resource assessment.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for managing the firm’s print and electronic library resources, including collection development, circulation, and original and copy-cataloging of materialMaintains and oversees support for the Firm’s integrated library system while assisting with the library’s intranet pagesCoordinates filing work of the contract filing clerksRecords and maintains Firm electronic resources licenses and oversees accessProvides analysis and reports to stakeholders for resource utilization and evaluationReviews, processes, and codes invoices for budgeting purposesCoordinates inter-library loans and document deliveryAssists library director with annual budget processAssists library director with contract and subscription renewalsAssists library director with new hire orientations and attorney and staff instructionAssists Firm with implementation and rollout of new resourcesLiaisons with IT and other Firm departments for resource implementation and system maintenanceAssists attorneys and staff with current awareness, reference, and in-depth research servicesQualificationsMaster’s degree in library science or related field required5-7 years of legal library experience strongly preferredExpertise using automated library catalog systems (Softlink Liberty preferred)Knowledge of bibliographic classifications systems, specifically Library of CongressFamiliarity with MARC and other computerized library records formatsKnowledge of resource utilization tracking products, preferably OnelogSharePoint and/or Handshake Software experience preferredDemonstrated knowledge and expertise of print and electronic legal content platforms such as Lexis, Westlaw, Intelligize, VitalLaw, and PLI PlusStrong organizational and oral communication skillsPay range $100,000-$130,000
