Staff Accountant

Staff Accountant Construction We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support accounting operations within a fast-paced construction environment. This role will focus on job cost accounting, project reporting, and assisting with month-end close. What You'll Do: Prepare and post journal entries and maintain general ledger Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations Assist with month-end and year-end close Support job cost accounting including tracking project expenses and budgets Analyze project costs, variances, and profitability Assist with WIP (Work-in-Progress) schedules and revenue recognition Partner with project managers on billing, cost tracking, and financial reporting Support AP/AR related to subcontractors, vendors, and progress billing Assist with audits and maintain accurate financial documentation What You'll Bring: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in construction or project-based environment Experience with job costing and WIP reporting Familiarity with ERP systems (Sage, Viewpoint, CMiC, or similar a plus) Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups) Understanding of GAAP and percentage-of-completion accounting preferred Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills HOUAC49
