Drone Systems Engineering InternDMR Technologies designs and manufactures advanced unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) serving agriculture, public safety, critical infrastructure, and defense. Our products combine mechanical engineering, electronics, embedded systems, software, manufacturing, and autonomous flight into complete solutions built in Louisiana. We're seeking a Drone Systems Engineering Intern who enjoys building things, solving problems, and learning across multiple engineering disciplines.As a Drone Systems Engineering Intern, you'll gain hands-on experience supporting the design, assembly, testing, and deployment of next-generation unmanned aircraft systems.Projects may include:Assisting with the design and development of drone platformsBuilding and testing prototype aircraftSupporting mechanical, electrical, and software integrationAssisting with flight testing and data collectionTroubleshooting hardware and system-level issuesSupporting manufacturing process improvementsAssisting with CAD models, engineering documentation, and BOM updatesIntegrating sensors, payloads, cameras, communications equipment, and accessoriesSupporting internal software tools, automation, or AI-powered engineering workflowsWorking alongside engineering, production, and flight operations teamsNo two weeks are the same. Interns are encouraged to contribute ideas, solve problems, and take ownership of meaningful projects.Preferred Qualifications:Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, or a related technical fieldStrong mechanical aptitudeExcellent problem-solving skillsComfortable working with tools and hands-on equipmentCurious, self-motivated, and eager to learnBonus Experience:Experience with any of the following is a plus: CAD (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar)Electronics and solderingEmbedded systems or microcontrollersJavaScript, Python, or C++React or web application developmentAI-assisted development tools (Claude, Codex, Cursor, Windsurf, etc.)Robotics or autonomous systems3D printingDrone building or FPV experienceFAA Part 107 Remote Pilot CertificateWe care less about checking every box and more about finding builders. You'll leave with experience spanning engineering, manufacturing, software, testing, and product development that few internships can offer.Compensation: $35,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
