License: State Nursing License or Compact State Nursing License Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification, National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification. Must-Have: Candidates must successfully pass a Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test. Description: Utilizes the nursing process to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients during a shift. Floating between departments or local locations within twenty miles is required. Ensures safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care of patients. Provides direct patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting individual patient needs, actions taken, and patient responses. Coordinates patient care through collaboration with the patient, family, and healthcare team. Initiates, utilizes, and documents appropriate protocols and standards of care. Administers medication and treatments as prescribed by physician or standard protocols and documents according to policy. Identifies and meets patient and family learning and discharge needs on admission and throughout the episode of care. Assumes responsibility for the clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel. Floats between departments or local locations within twenty miles as required. Provides nursing care for a medically complex patient population awaiting community placement in a long-term stay setting. Cares for Med/Surg level patients in a facility without a direct escalation path to ICU. Recognizes, de-escalates, and responds to deteriorating patient conditions. Maintains a nurse-to-patient ratio of one nurse to seven patients. Works weekends as needed.
