Your job title and salary will be tailored to your unique experience, education, and credentials.\nAdvanced Practice: Work under the general direction of a physician to provide life-saving respiratory therapy services and life support to patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies and abnormalities.\nDiverse Experience: Perform a wide range of advanced respiratory care duties across various patient populations and service areas, including OR, ED, Cath Lab, Lung Center, Recovery areas, and more.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nHigh-Risk Modalities: Administer advanced therapies such as Nitric Oxide (NO) and Tracheal Gas Insufflation (TGI).\nSpecialized Functions: Perform bronchoscopy, Arterial Blood Gas (ABG) lab troubleshooting, pulmonary function tests, breath alcohol testing, EEG, EKG, stress testing, and 24-hour Holter monitoring.\nPatient Monitoring: Track physiological responses to therapy, including vital signs, arterial blood gases, and blood chemistry changes.\nCollaborative Care: Consult with physicians on adverse reactions and maintain comprehensive patient charts.\nTraining & Supervision: Demonstrate respiratory care procedures to trainees and supervise students during their training.\nEmergency Response: Assist in transporting mechanically ventilated patients and respond to all code situations.\nEquipment Management: Set up and operate respiratory therapy devices, ensuring optimal function and safety.\n\nWhat We Offer:\n\nSupportive Environment: Function as a Lead Respiratory Therapist in the absence of the Supervisor or Manager, providing guidance and training to other staff.\nProfessional Development: Engage in continuous learning and development opportunities to advance your career.\n\nIf you are a skilled Respiratory Therapist ready to take on new challenges and grow with a leading healthcare provider, we want to hear from you!\nApply Today and Make a Difference at UPMC Williamsport Hospital!\n Requirements:\n\nEducation:\n\nGraduate of a CoARC (Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care) approved Respiratory program.\nIn lieu of an Associate's degree, must have 5 to 7 years of experience or hold an NBRC Certification.\nBachelor's degree is preferred.\n\n\nExperience:\n\nTwo (2) years of total respiratory care experience, with a minimum of one (1) year in critical care.\nMust successfully complete one (1) approved project from the department's project list during each annual performance review period. Project must be approved within 3 months of hire.\n\n\nLicensure, Certifications, and Clearances:\n\nCPR Certification: Required based on AHA standards, including both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.\nPennsylvania Employees:\n\nRespiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.\nRegistered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).\nRespiratory Therapists who receive their RRT credential from the NBRC after July 1, 2002, must maintain certification under the NBRC requirements.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBasic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)\nOsteopathic Respiratory Care OR Respiratory Care Practitioners (RCP)\nRegistered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)\nAct 33 with renewal\nAct 34 with renewal\nAct 73 FBI Clearance with renewal\n\nUPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran
