Structural Engineer or ICC Special Inspector (TR1,TR8)

Job Description Perform or witness concrete, masonry, steel bolting, post installed anchors and other activities on New York City construction projects, such as low to mid rise buildings, industrial, commercial, public, academic, and healthcare facilities.Prepare and submit reports of inspection activities and other technical documentationFile documentation and complete required technical report forms in accordance with the IBCOther duties as assignedLead or participate in project meetings and conference calls.Manage project documentation and status.Perform Energy efficiency inspections in NY TR8Job Requirements:Bachelor s Degree in Engineering or Architecture is preferredAt least 5 years of relevant experience as a construction or special inspector on progressively complex building/facility projects.Proficiency in the use of standard Microsoft Office products and the ability to become competent with latest project related inspection software and reporting systemsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsWorking knowledge and experience with structural design.Ability to communicate as a valued team member with colleagues and clients of all levelsAbility to provide inspection reports in a timely mannerReliable means of transportation and a valid driver’s licenseWillingness to obtain additional certificationsWork well with a team and individuallyFamiliarity with construction industry codesApplicant must send at least 5 sample construction inspection reports from any of the below categorieswe seek individuals with one or more of the following certifications:AWS Certified Welding Inspector (AWS-CWI)AWS Certified Associate Welding Inspector (AWS-CAWI)ACI-1 - Concrete Construction Special Inspector (ACI-CCSI)ICC Concrete Special Inspector (ICC-CSI)ICC Commercial MechanicalICC Pre-Stressed Concrete Special InspectorICC Spray Applied Fire Proofing Special InspectorICC Soils Special InspectorICC Structural Masonry Special InspectorICC Structural Steel and Bolting InspectorICC Structural Welding Inspector (ICC-SWI)Other desirable licenses include:NYS Licensed Professional Engineer or Registered Architect
