Overview:
Envision and guide the architectural evolution of Coupa's supplier platform at scale. You will lead multi-cloud, high-availability initiatives and define patterns for APIs, microservices, deployment, and security. You’ll mentor engineers, shape cross-team collaboration, and contribute to a product that serves millions of suppliers. Responsibilities:
Lead architectural evolution for high traffic, expanding functionality and reliabilityDefine API design, microservice boundaries, deployment pipelines, monitoring, and reliability patternsMentor engineers and guide architectural decisions, review code and architectureCollaborate with SRE on cloud-native infrastructure (CI/CD, containers, IaC, multi-cloud) Own security, multi-tenancy isolation, data governance, and regional compliancePartner with product/design/business to scale supplier workflows into robust systems
Key requirements:
15+ years B2B SaaS experience with leadership and architectural rolesExperience evolving legacy systems to microservices in productionDeep knowledge of API-driven services, multi-tenant architectures, and large-scale B2B integrationsStrong background in CI/CD, Docker/Kubernetes, IaC, and cloud providers (AWS or GCP) Comfort with Rails, Golang, and Java; ability to choose appropriate toolsMentoring experience; ability to lead without micromanaging and avoid bottlenecksStrong problem-solving and cross-functional communication skillsmentoringstrong communication across engineering, product, and businessproblem-solving with focus on balance between scale and debtAPI-driven servicesmulti-tenant architecturesB2B integration patterns
