Job Description Job Opportunity: Pediatric Developmental and Behavioral PediatricianOur organization is on the lookout for a dedicated full-time Pediatric Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrician to enhance our comprehensive clinical program. This program is focused on providing exceptional care for children and adolescents facing a variety of developmental disorders. Currently, our division includes two Board-Certified developmental behavioral pediatricians and nurse practitioners to meet the growing needs of our community.Situated about 40 miles from New York City in West Islip, New York, our 537-bed teaching hospital is part of a larger health network. The area is rich in culture and history, offering a wide array of attractions and activities. Families here benefit from some of the nation's top school districts and recreational options.As a member of the Children's Hospital Association, our organization is committed to advancing pediatric care and enhancing the quality of services for children. We have a staff of over 900 physicians and operate a Level II pediatric trauma center, serving nearly 950,000 patients each year across Long Island's south shore. Our facility features Suffolk County's only free-standing Center for Pediatric Specialty Care, providing multi-specialty services from our Level III Neonatology Unit into adulthood.Our specialists also play a vital role in training as faculty for the Pediatric residency program. There are opportunities for those interested in engaging in research and scholarly activities within various programs supported by our health network.Salary Range: $200,000 - $260,000Key Responsibilities:Assessing and managing infants, children, and adolescents with a wide array of conditions, including autism spectrum disorders, behavioral challenges, developmental delays, common genetic disorders (such as Down Syndrome), sleep and feeding issues, and educational difficulties related to speech, language, and learning.Supervising and mentoring medical students, interns, and residents during their rotations in the department and division.Upholding high standards of care for all patients.Encouraging high-quality, cost-effective care grounded in the latest medical evidence.Engaging in data collection to evaluate patient care and satisfaction.Staying updated on advancements in pediatrics and related fields through continuing medical education (CME) programs, literature reviews, and staff conferences.Opportunities for clinical research are available and actively encouraged.Qualifications:Ideal candidates will have training in Pediatric Neurodevelopmental Disabilities and be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics and Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics or Neurodevelopmental Disabilities. A valid New York State Physician's license is mandatory.The salary range provided is a good faith estimate and actual compensation will depend on various factors, including education, training, skills, licensure, certification, competencies, and relevant experience.
