Job Description
We are looking for a structural welder who is a highly skilled tradesperson responsible for fabricating, joining, and repairing the heavy metal frameworks of buildings, bridges, and pipelines. Who can operate specialized welding equipment to assemble structural steel components, ensuring all welds meet rigorous safety and industry standards.Core ResponsibilitiesBlueprint Interpretation: Read and translate technical drawings and welding specifications to layout and assemble metal parts accurately.Welding & Fabrication: Use techniques like SMAW (Stick), MIG, or TIG to join steel beams, columns, and girders in all positions.Quality Control: Inspect finished welds for defects and ensure the structural integrity of the metal framework.Safety Compliance: Adhere to strict OSHA and site-specific safety protocols, which frequently includes utilizing fall protection, respirators, and other PPE.Equipment Maintenance: Maintain, clean, and troubleshoot welding machines, grinders, and cutting torches.Key Skills & RequirementsPhysical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy materials, work in awkward positions, and endure varying weather conditions on construction or industrial sites.Hand-Eye Coordination: Manual dexterity to control welding arcs and manipulate heavy steel components efficiently.Certifications: Often require specific state, AWS (American Welding Society), or ASME certifications.
