Welder FitterThis position is located in Newport News, Virginia or Charleston, SC.Perform multi-pass tack welding using the Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) process.Operate burning and heating equipment, specifically oxygen/propane burning torches.Interpret complex structural assembly drawings, blueprints, and sketches, including weld symbols, material types, datum, and reference lines.Comprehend fractional dimensions using a ruler and lay off piece parts for fabrication and assembly.Assemble structural piece parts according to specifications with high-quality standards.Work effectively in physically demanding environments such as shipbuilding or steel fabrication.Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations relevant to the shipbuilding industry.Utilize vibratory tools including grinders and needle guns.This position is located in Newport News, Virginia or Charleston, SC.Single & Multi Pass Tack WeldingBurning using Oxygen/Propane Burning TorchHeating using Oxygen/Propane Heating TorchAbility to read and interpret complex structural assembly drawings, blueprints, and sketchesAbility to comprehend fractional dimensions using a rulerAbility to lay off piece parts for fabrication and assemblerJob Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Jacksonville, FL.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $45.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
